Kitchen faucet leaking

Kitchen faucets generally consist of the following parts: handle, valve core, packing, packing nut, gasket, valve parts, etc. A problem with one of these components can cause the faucet to leak.

1. Water leakage at the water outlet

First of all, if the faucet is dripping while it's tightened, it is usually caused by the abrasion of the axes gasket inside the faucet. The solution is as follows:

Step 1: remove the handle fixed on the main body of the faucet;

Step 2: Loosen and remove the valve core with a wrench, and take out the axes gasket with a clamp;

Step 3: Replace the water supply with a new axes gasket or replace the valve plug.

2. Leakage in the lower part of the faucet

If the water comes out from lower part of the faucet,the gland gasket may be abrased.

Solution: Loosen the screw to remove the hoe, then loosen the gland before remove the gland inner gasket and replace it with a new one.

3, filtration mesh scaling

If the water flows separately or with smaller volume,then the filtration mesh of aerator may be scaling or the flow may be blocked by foreign stuff or limescale.

Solution: Remove the faucet and clean the filtration mesh.

4. Leakage at the joint junction

If water leaks at the joint,then the cap nut might be loose.

Solution: You can retighten the cap nut or replace a new U-ring.

In fact, sometimes the leakage of the kitchen faucet is not necessarily related to the faucet itself. If the water hose and the faucet body are improperly installed, the faucet may leak. Therefore, when checking the faucet leakage, don't forget to look at the water hose and the water hose aging. The problem caused by the burst is more serious. Water leakage is caused by leakage of water supply. Don't forget that the water supply enters your home after being pressurized, so when the faucet handle is in the "closed" position, there must be an impervious seal to block the incoming water. This gasket is typically formed by pressing the gasket tightly against the faucet seat. Obviously, if the washer or faucet is out of order, some water can leak and drip out from the faucet. To prevent such dripping, you usually only need to replace the gasket or repair the faucet. The first thing is to turn off the water supply. You should turn off the water supply by simply turning off a water supply valve near the faucet, but if your house is not equipped with a water supply valve for each faucet, you will have to turn off the main water supply valve to shut down all water in your home.

In daily life, we must use the faucet correctly. When closing the faucet, do not rotate the faucet too tightly, so that the life of the faucet can be maintained for 7-8 years. The leakage of the faucet seems to be small. In fact, the long time is not only the waste of water but also the expensive water fee. Everyone must pay attention to it and choose the solution that suits you best according to your actual situation.
